How to Prepare Your Driveway for a Roll Off Dumpster Delivery
A little preparation before delivery day protects your driveway and helps our crew place your dumpster exactly where you need it. Here’s what to check beforehand.
Clear the Path
Move vehicles, trash cans, potted plants, and any other movable items out of the delivery path and away from your intended placement spot. Our trucks need a clear, straight approach to set the container down safely.
Check Overhead Clearance
Look up before you book. Low tree branches or power lines near your placement spot can prevent our truck from tilting the container into place. If you’re not sure, mention any overhead obstacles when you schedule delivery so we can plan around them.
Protect Your Driveway Surface
We place boards under the wheels of every dumpster we deliver to help protect asphalt and pavers from scuffing or denting. If your driveway is newly poured, sealed, or made of a delicate material, let us know in advance so we can take extra precautions.
Pick a Level Spot
Dumpsters sit best on flat, stable ground. A sloped or soft placement spot can cause the container to settle unevenly, making it harder to load and unload safely. Driveways and paved areas are almost always the best option over grass or gravel.
Know Your Property Line
If you’re placing the dumpster on the street or near a shared driveway, check with your city or HOA about any permit requirements first. We can point you in the right direction if you’re unsure whether your New Braunfels neighborhood requires one.
Have Your Loading Plan Ready
Decide ahead of time what’s going in first. Heavier, bulkier items at the bottom and lighter debris on top makes the most of your space and keeps the load balanced for pickup.
